The Hobie® Asian Championship is on next month at the same location as the last Hobie 16 World Championships. It will be held at a different monsoon time which will give entirely different sailing conditions. This time there will be the cooler, drier northerly monsoon. The organizers are offering 1,500/1,200/1,000 USD for first/second/third places in both the Hobie 16 Open and Master classes. The Hobie Asian sailors are already entering, though the championships and prize money is open to all Hobie sailors. It is a great opportunity to win a Hobie regatta and get some cash as well. The hotel is offering discounts again for the sailors.

This month we have BRASCAT 2017 will take place Porto Alegre from 10-18 November 2017. This is the Brazilian Hobie 14 and 16 National championship.

The 2017 Nicholas Lynch Australian Hobie Nationals also start at the end of December. The event is sailed at Somers Yacht Club. Somers is one of the most scenic towns along Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, a great spot for Hobie sailing, or for the non sailors in the family just to relax and enjoy the good life. While the early bird discounted entry is over entries are still welcome. The online entry system is easy to use.

We have some updated news on the Hobie 16 North American Championship 2018 Navarre Beach, Florida. The website now has some updated news on the accommodations, while the 2018 Hobie 18//20 North American Championships has been announced. The location is Huntington Lake, California. The dates of registration will be from 6th and 7th August with racing starting on the 8th August continuing to the 10th of August.

The 2018 Multi Europeans at Hornbaek, Denmark with racing 20 – 28th July 2018. There is a new logo and the web site http://www.hobie2018european.com will go live very soon.

Congratulations to the 2017 North American Mini Mega Race Management Team. They received the Race Management trophy from the North Jersey Yacht Racing Association (NJYRA) for the Mini Mega. Well done to the large group of volunteers both on and off the water for making the event so enjoyable for the competitors

A lot of Hobie racing is planned in 2017 and continuing on into 2018. We always have Hobie racing somewhere in the world.

2017 Hobie® 18//20 North American Championships dates and location announced

The location is Huntington Lake, California.

Registration will be from 6th and 7th August with racing starting on the 8th August continuing to the 10th August. See it all on the IHCA website.

The 2017 North American Mini Mega Race Management Team win award

They received the Race Management trophy from the North Jersey Yacht racing Association (NJYRA) for the Mini Mega North American Championship for 6 different Hobie Classes. Championships were crowned in the Hobie 17, Hobie 18, Hobie 14, Hobie Wave, Hobie Youth and Hobie Women (sailed on Hobie 16s) classes. The event spanned 10 days from Aug 2 through the 12th with 66 races held over the 8 racing days.

Belgium Youth Dragoon Championships

The Royal Belgium Sailing Club at Duinbergen conducted the Belgium Youth Multihull Championships. The Hobie Dragoon sailors were there, with Marie Uyttendaele aged 10 and Boris Goethals aged 12 taking out the championships. See the details on our website.

2017 Australian Hobie Championships

The dates are 28th Dec 2017 to 3rd Jan 2018. Lots of accommodation details from camping onsite to hotels. Somers is around 70 km south-east of Melbourne, in the south-eastern corner of the Mornington Peninsula on Western Port Bay. All the details can be found at the new website, with easy online entry and payment system.
