The Dana Point Yacht Club hosted the world’s first ever Hobie Mirage™ Eclipse stand up races in May. Heats were run on a 0.4 mile course.

Hobie’s Sean Douglas said the racing was super fun. Hard too. The field was stacked with stand up athletes and even an Olympic gold medal bicyclist, Steve Hess (1994).

Brendan Castile took the overall win with a “super legit” time of 4:09 in heat one. Dave Meyler of Boga Boards won the Super heat by 0.0.12 hundredths of a second over Brendan and posted the second overall fastest time of 4:13 and Julie Alston took top Women’s honors with a 5:13.

Tyler Bashor won the 17 and under overall with a time of 4:32 and the top Girls 17 and under time was posted by Jade Howsen at 5:03.
