2016 Hobie® Multi Europeans conclude, what happened in Austria?

The Hobie® Multi Europeans have just concluded at Lake Neusiedl, Austria. While the breeze didn’t come to the party, the Hobie sailors did. The Austrians put on the party and the sailors came. On the water the racing was as always hard fought battles. Off the water the friendship was always there.

The Europeans started with the racing for the Hobie 16 Youth and Open Spi, Women, Masters, Grand Masters; Hobie 14 and Dragoon.

After two days of racing were awarded for Hobie 16 Women, Masters, Great Grand Masters and Open SPI. Racing continued for the Hobie 16 Youth SPI, Hobie 14 and Dragoon with the Hobie 16 Qualifications joining the racing.

Two more days of racing and the racing concluded for the Hobie 14, Dragoon, Hobie 16 Youth SPI and then to announce the sailors that had qualified to the Gold Hobie 16 fleet. The Gold Fleet already had sailors qualified from their own country.

The Wild Cat, Tigers joined the Hobie 16 fleet for four days of racing.

The Hobie Multi Europeans was a very packed schedule of non-stop Hobie racing and parties.

The Hobie events continues this month with the Hobie 17 North Americans at Lake Carlyle.

The North American Championships for the Hobie 16 & 18 are in Puerto Penasco, Mexico. For the Hobie 18 it is also the US Sailing Multihull Championship for the Hobie Alter Cup. A wonderful honour for such an iconic multihull.

The Notice of Race is released for the Americas Cup Endeavour Wave racing. The America’s Cup Endeavour Junior Hobie Wave Regatta being held 20-26 June 2017, in Bermuda. The junior sailors will e part of the Americas Cup and rain with some of the biggest names in sailing. All sailors need to be 15 years old or younger, in 2017, the year of the event and members of the Hobie Class Association. Each Hobie Wave sailing team shall consist of two males, or two females, or a mix of one male and one female. The goal is to have a 50/50 equal mix of males and females at the event. 2017 Hobie® MutiWorlds and Europeans in the Netherlands
Zeilvereniging Noordwijk will host the 2017 Hobie MultiWorlds and Europeans. As famous holiday destination and sailing venue in the Netherlands it is a wonderful location for our Hobie event. Racing will be from 20th July to 29th July More about the venue can be found at Hobie Worlds.

A highlight of every regatta season. The best Hobie 16 sailors meet after their events in Grömitz, Scharbeutz and Kellenhusen for the last big race of the year. On Saturday, 6th of August the colored and spectacular catamarans will complete in exciting Fleet races for the ranking list for the team match race coming on Sunday. More information.

The 2016 Australian Championships have been announced for Hervey Bay, Queensland. Hervey Bay is a well known tourist destination with a large natural bay sheltered by Fraser Island. Hervey Bay is about a 3 1/2 drive North of Brisbane. The website lots of information including the Notice of Race.
